Caracal
The Caracal (Carcal caracal) is a medium-sized wildcat native to Africa, Central and Southwest Asia, and India. It’s most distinguishing feature are its elegant tufted ears. Long considered to be a member of the Lynx family, recent molecular studies place the Caracal in its own unique genus. Caracals can range in color from brick-red to tan, with melanistic individuals recorded in captivity and in the wild.
